Ruger Firearms & Others, Stepped Up with a Donation of a Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor, Optics, Gun Case and Ammo

My friends from Ruger knew about my personal passion and drive to raise funds to build a home for girls who have been recovered from sex-trafficking by law enforcement. One day a Ruger Precision 6.5 Creedmoor showed up at my house. This excellent world class rifle was donated by Ruger to help raise the funds for this home.

The project is called: The Day After Yesterday, and the foundation is 401-Kids Inc. It is a 501c3 tax exempt public foundation with 21 years of fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves.

William B. Ruger, an American gun designer, along with Alexander McCormick Sturm, founded Sturm, Ruger & Company in 1949. Currently, Ruger is the largest firearms manufacture in the United States. Ruger and Company started by making the .22 rimfire Ruger Standard semi-auto pistol. Seventy-one years later Ruger is still in business with an outstanding line of firearms and accessories.

My first ever pistol was a Ruger Super Single Six with .22 LR and .22 Magnum cylinders. I bought this amazing example of American craftmanship in 1969. I still have this revolver to this day. There is no way to know how much .22 caliber ammo I put through this firearm. I would say at least 10,000 rounds. To this day it shoots and has never failed to fire.

Ruger Firearms

Ruger firearms are still as dependable as my old Super Single Six. I have several including my M77 bolt action rifle in 270 Winchester. I like to say I use my M77 for chipmunks to elk. I have never needed any other center fire rifle until I bought my Ruger AR 5.56 MPR Model 8514. Then the Ruger Lever Action #1 in 480 Ruger to match up with my New Model Super Blackhawk Bisley in the same magical butt-kicker round. I love the 480 Ruger round. It may not have the tag of magnum but I can tell you it kicks like a .44 mag double loaded. Love it. Just love it.

Along with the Ruger Precision Rifle, Votex Optics sent the foundation a Diamondback Tactical 6-24×50 FFP and a Vortex Diamondback Optical Binoculars with many hats and promotional items. Very generous and outstanding company who sells some of the finest optics in the World.

What good is an outstanding Ruger Precision rifle and Votex scope without ammo? Right? In these times of panic and uncertainty, ammo is just very hard to get unless you want to mortgage your home. For this fund raiser Winchester, Hornady and SIG ARMS sent us several boxes of 6.5 Creedmoor ammo of which the foundation greatly appreciated. Winchester, Hornady and SIG ARMS ammo is the worlds best ammo at any price. The owners and employees and are superb people with big hearts.

In order to keep a Rifle and Scope secure one would need a gun case. So MTM Case Guard donated their brand-new Tactical Rifle Case 42″. An excellent product. The wonderful people at MTM Case Guard are great people.

In order to auction the Ruger rifle, Vortex scope/binoculars and ammo, I first contacted a few stores in the OKC metro. Not a single one was interested is helping raise money for these girls. A sad state of affairs.

Not one to give up, I posted on GunBroker the Ruger Rifle and Votex Optics items for auction. I posted this package for a two-week time frame. Two weeks later we had a winner Bill Jackson of Texas. Bill lived close enough to Oklahoma so he decided to drive up and claim his prizes….after he paid the bid price with a check made out to “401-Kids Inc.” When Bill showed up, I found him to be one of those men who is a man of his word. A man who you can trust. A rare commodity in these times. We visited for a while and then I help Bill fill up the backseat of his manly truck. Bill is a hunter, shooter and one who will defend his family and neighbors. In other words, a great American.

This next spring the wife and I will travel through Bill’s town and take him up on the offer of buying us the “World’s Best Hamburger” for dinner. I am looking forward to this visit to see how the Ruger Precision and Vortex scope worked out.

In closing I will ask those of you who read this article, to consider the fine people who have the big heart and willingness to give to save a girl’s life from the horrors of sex-trafficking. For those patriots who would like to join our “Warrior Class” can go to: www.401kids.org to join us in this battle of good over evil. Vortex Optical Diamondback Tactical 6-24×50 FFP

Vortex says it best:

“The Diamondback Tactical is a long-range wolf in sheep’s clothing. Rather than cramming features in at the expense of turret performance and optical quality, the Diamondback Tactical dials it back, putting the focus where it counts. Exposed turrets bring tracking performance previously unheard of at this price point, while its optical system delivers sharp image quality even at extended range. Its relatively simple design places you firmly in the driver’s seat with the potential to take on that 1,000-yard mark and beyond, all at a price that’s easy to justify for new shooters, your training rifle, as well as experienced shooters looking for a back-to-basics optic on their fun gun. Opt for one of the first focal plane models on a sweet shooting rifle and you’ve got yourself a perfectly capable competition rig without breaking the bank.”
