A Manly Knife for a Manly Man

As you may know, I am a huge 1911 firearm fan. I have the .45 acp, 10 mm, and .22 LR Browning. I have others as well in my collection. I am also a huge fan of Case knives. I have been when I watched my grandfather make a bull into a steer with his Case Stockman knife. All the men in my family carry a pocket knife. I grew up with men who worked with their hands using pocket knives.

Ruger Firearms

My favorite carry Case pocket knife is the double-bladed Trapper. At age 14 I started working in the hay fields of Kansas. I was paid 2 cents a bail I handled. I saved up my money with a special fund for my first Case pocket knife. Once I had the funds needed to purchase the knife, I went to a local hardware store and looked over their offerings. When I saw the double bladed trapper I knew this was the knife for me. I carried it for many years till I lost it arresting a dirt-bag. I replaced the Case Trapper I lost but never carried it while on duty. I carried the Barlow made by case. The Barlow was less money and easier to replace. I still have that Barlow.

To support my hypothesis, for you rednecks this means an unsupported idea, if you carry “THE” manly 1911 firearm, you do not need the added bulk or weight of a combat knife. No need for a folding tactical or fix blade. When you leave the house armed with a tactical knife to back up your 1911 firearm, then reconsider where you are headed. If you feel you will possibly need the tactical knife and the 1911 firearm, reconsider what you are about to do. Extra magazines are a good idea no matter where you travel. Extra magazines take up more space on your belt. They will be much more useful than the tactical knife. Some may need the extra mags and a tactical knife. If so, a fixed blade comes into action much faster than an auto folder.
